Weekend Overview

Friday

  • Our Margaree weekend begins Friday afternoon at golden hour. Start your evening with locally-inspired charcuterie as we connect and build excitement for the weekend ahead. Crack into fresh Nova Scotia lobster and sit by the fire as we share stories about the region and the property. You’ll be able to relax knowing we have taken care of every detail, so you can be fully immersed in the experience. Later you will enjoy a good night's sleep to prepare for our early rise.

Saturday

  • Early morning you’ll enjoy a buffet-style breakfast at The Shed and spend the rest of the afternoon as you please. Option to take a 4-hour snowmobile tour through the Cape Breton Highlands, or hop on a guided backcountry Jeep tour. You may even choose to opt out of the activities and simply soak in your wood fired hot tub at the Ridge on the Chimney for the day, curled up with a nice cocktail and a book.

    However you decide to spend your day, you’ll return to The Shed early evening to unwind and debrief. You can get cozy by the fire while our guest chef puts the finishing touches on your carefully crafted 5-course meal. During the course of the meal you’ll have the chance to interact with your private chef and learn more about your dishes.

    At the end of your meal, you can enjoy the outdoor fire pit to take in the starry night skies or simply stay inside and tell stories around the fireplace.

    • Free time in the afternoon. Optional 4-hour guided snowmobile tour through the Cape Breton Highlands, backcountry Jeep tour with snowshoeing, guided photography session and hike to Egypt Falls.

Sunday

  • Sunday morning starts with a refreshing trail walk up McKinnon’s Mountain on the property. At the top you will find The Tower, built by Dalhousie Masters of Architecture students, where you can climb up and take in the expansive views of the Margaree Valley below. By then you’ll have worked up an appetite and be ready for a relaxed plated brunch prepared by our guest chef.  

    After brunch you’ll pack up and say goodbyes, or if you’ve already packed you can start your journey back home directly from the Shed. You’ll be sure to leave this weekend with stories of your adventure, envy-worthy photos, full hearts, and full bellies.
